Our Story
We began our fellowship in February of 2013 as Hunt County Chapel on the Southside of Greenville. We began by subletting a location with a music lesson center. Over a year into it, GOD provided a location downtown. Another pastor who was also a church planter finally ended his fellowship due to health and other reasons (Foundation Fellowship, Dr. Hal Harless). Being that it was a potential Calvary Chapel plant, we were asked if we would like to go finish the lease. Many years later and we finally followed GOD’s leading to leave that location for one that would accommodate our fellowship.
In August of 2024 we moved into the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church of Greenville Texas. It was only across the parking lot for us, and provides us with plenty of room. We are in a like minded ministry partnership with the First Baptists using their facilities until GOD moves us again.
We are a Bible believing/teaching fellowship of friends. The Bible says in Acts 17:10-11 that the people in Berea were more noble than those in Thessalonica because they studied the scriptures daily. We seek wisdom that comes from the scriptures, Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”.
The long range plan is to teach through the Bible verse by verse. Why verse by verse? Isaiah 28:9-10 :9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” In the context of the verse we see that GOD teaches us all not just the “super holy”. It would seem that the most sensible way to mature as a Christian would be to go verse by verse.
